Isaiah: Resting in God's Promises

Traditionally Advent is a time of waiting and preparation for the Savior’s coming.  It’s a time of waiting for God to move, for God’s Spirit to stir, waiting for God to make things right.  Yet waiting isn’t a time to do nothing, it’s a time to actively pursue hope, it’s a time to remember the promises of God! The prophet Isaiah knew what it meant to wait. He lived in a tumultuous time in Israel’s history: evil was seemingly expanding; God’s people appeared to be growing weaker as they failed over and over. Isaiah was sent to call the people of Judah back to God, to rest in His promises.  So let us join Isaiah in waiting for the Messiah and Resting in God’s Promises.
