  • Sunday School meets at 9:30 AM during the school year. (off for summer)
  • Kids ages preschool - 5th grade will gather downstairs in one group and start out with a short time of praise with songs and presentation of a Bible story or parable. Then the kids will break out according to age and dig deeper into the story with their leaders through discussion and activities. The kids will be given a monthly devotional magazine that they will take home to share with their families at home. More info about our elementary program can be found here.

Adult Sunday School Information

Meet us in the Upper Room at 9:30am.

Our current book is "Images of Christ" by Dale Thomas.

"Good Shepherd. Branch. Bridegroom. Cornerstone. There are many images of Christ in Scripture. Some of these word-portraits are easier for us to grasp than others, but each reveals an important aspect of who Christ is. By helping us understand the different images, these ten session LifeGuide® Bible Study by Dale and Sandy Larsen lead us to know and respond to the reality behind the images--Christ himself--in new and deeper ways. This LifeGuide Bible Study in IVP Connect's revised format features questions for starting group discussions and for meeting God in personal reflection, as well as a "Now or Later" section following each session to help you act on what you learn.

For attenders, here is a preview listing of each week's discussion text and topic to help you better prepare for discussion:

Session 1: Good Shepherd
What is the significance of the fact that Christ calls himself both the gate for the sheepfold and the shepherd who leads his sheep through the gate?
Psalm 31:1-8

Session 2: Lamb of God
It is easy to find comfort in the image of Jesus as the innocent, gentle Lamb of God. How does this passage challenge such a view?
Revelation 5:6-14

Session 3: Suffering Servant
Verse 6 highlights two great truths: we have all strayed, and the Lord has put our sins onto his servant. How have you experienced the reality of both parts of verse 6?
Isaiah 52:13-53:6

Session 4: Branch
Isaiah described the coming Messiah as a shoot who would arise from the stump of Jesse and who would develop into a fruit-bearing branch. What revolutionary changes will the Branch bring about? When has God brought about changes in your life that were beyond anything you had wished or prayed for?
Isaiah 11:1-9

Session 5: True Vine
Jesus called himself the "true vine." What are some false "vines" from which people try to draw energy and purpose?
John 15:1-8

Session 6: Light of the World
When have you especially sensed the difference between the light of Christ and the darkness of the world?
John 1:1-9

Session 7: Bridegroom
Where do you struggle to trust your divine bridegroom's love and care for you?
Ephesians 5:25-33

Session 8: Head of the Church
To what false "heads" does the body of Christ try to attach itself, and with what results?
Colossians 1:15-20

Session 8: Bread of Life
In what ways do you think you expend yourself for "the food that spoils" rather than feeding on Christ?
John 6:25-51

Session 10: Cornerstone
How do you respond to the idea that you are part of a spiritual house made up of living stones?
1 Peter 2:4-8
